Welcome!!
Hi everyone!
So I’ve been meaning to update my website for a few years now, and never seemed to find the time to do so. With the technical knowledge of my friend Michael Dauz and some design help from my friend Rachel Ito, I’m excited to see this new site. Hopefully a lot more functional, easy and still simple. I’ve included stuff I’ve been doing on the side such as live-action, music and photography. Anything that’s somewhat related to film is something I’m definitely very drawn to.
Something I’ve been asked about. My shortfilm “Screws” was put on hold when I decided to get involved with Animation Mentor. Starting AnimationMentor wasn’t easy for me or my partners Bobby and Shawn. We worked serious endless hours for a good couple of years. Therefore I couldn’t take onto other projects and still work at a very challenging place such as Pixar. Just wasn’t realistic. So In a way I’m glad I put the shortfilm on hold. I’ve been learning a lot over the last 5 years both through Pixar and Animation Mentor, that it gave me a whole new prospective on story/film language. So, I decided “Screws” had to go back to the boards and a new cut needed to be created, as what I have currently doesn’t hold up.
I added a section on Animation Mentor, for those who might have questions. Updated the animation section with old and new stuff. I still wanted to keep the Animation Resources area, with whatever I find on the web related to animation/film, and be able to have basic tips and tricks of areas I can share information. I have a couple of basic Tips & Tricks posts on brows and thought process that I’m hoping will be of help to people. Also the same book and links areas, with more information.
At Pixar, I’m currently working on “Wall-E” and enjoying it very much. Be sure to get the updates on the trailers, and check out this great commercial that my co-workers Victor Navone, Bobby Podesta and Dylan Brown animated with the help of Don Crum, Wendell Lee and Sarah Mercey for the Superbowl. I can’t wait for people to watch this film. I won’t say more about it other than you are in for a treat. This is one special film.
So thanks for stopping by. I hope you dig the new site.
Oh, and Happy Valentines! Hasta Luego.
Carlos.
